OUR SCHOOL HOUSE.
This is a picture of our school house. We have four classrooms for 75 children in Kindergarten and Grades 1 through 4. Our school house is made of mud, sticks and a metal roof - except for the Grade 3 classroom which has only half a roof. The older children of our school helped the teachers and community to build it in 2010.
We are lucky it does not often rain during the daytime when we are at school. But when it does, the Grade 3 children run into the other classrooms. This does not help them much because the other rooms have big holes in the roof, and we all get wet anyway.
We hope that soon, we will have a better school house with nice walls and a roof that does not have big holes.
Still, we are very grateful for our school house, because when our school started a few years ago, our classes were held under the trees, with no shelter from the hot equatorial sun or the rain.
We thank God for our school and for our teachers. Without them, we would not receive an education. Education gives us hope for a better future.
